John Diggle is a fictional character portrayed by David Ramsey in The CW's Arrowverse, primarily in the series Arrow. While inspired by the DC Comics character, this version is a significant departure.
Diggle first appears in the pilot episode of Arrow, initially as Oliver Queen's bodyguard. He quickly becomes Queen's confidante and partner in fighting crime as a vigilante.
A former Special Forces soldier with extensive combat training, Diggle provides tactical expertise, moral guidance, and a grounded perspective to Oliver's mission. He is a skilled marksman and hand-to-hand combatant.
Over the course of the series, Diggle's role expands significantly. He becomes a central member of Team Arrow, forming close bonds with its other members. He eventually takes on the mantle of Green Arrow briefly. Later in the Arrowverse timeline, he's affected by a mysterious object which causes him to potentially become a Green Lantern.
